Nucor Steel Berkeley is the largest steel producer by volume in Nucor with a unique variety of products coming from a Structural Beam Mill and CSP Sheet Mill. Production started in 1996 and features two electric arc furnaces that supplies both mills. Downstream processing for the sheet mill includes pickling, cold rolling, and galvanizing capabilities. There are approximately one thousand teammates working for Nucor Berkeley in a variety of capacities. The campus features several customers and suppliers on nearly 2,000 acres of developed land and 6,000 acres in a protected conservation easement. Nucor Steel Berkeley has announced two major expansions recently with a $425M Galvanizing line project and a $200M modernization project including an Air Separation Unit to provide process gases to the operations.
Who Should Attend
This training and tour event is particularly relevant to service center employees involved in purchasing and sales. It is especially beneficial for those new to plates and shapes products. Please note that participation in this program is limited to MSCI service center members only.
Training and Tour Information
The training session and mill tour will be held at Nucor Berkeley on Thursday, February 29th. Participants will receive an introduction to structural and sheet products along with an understanding of the basics of how our products are made.

Attire & Safety Information
Casual attire is appropriate for the product training and tour on Thursday, February 28th. Visiting the mill requires personal protective equipment that will be provided by Nucor. Full length pants and closed toe shoes are required as well.
Meals
Nucor will host dinner on February 28th and will also host lunch on February 29th. Please let us know if you will not be attending the dinner. Please also let us know of any dietary restrictions. The dinner location is:

Fee and Cancellation Policy
The cost of the Sheet and Shapes Training and Mill Tour is $350 per person. Participation is limited, so please register early. Cancellations made on or before February 7, 2024, will receive a full refund of fees paid. No shows and cancellations received after that date will not be eligible for refunds. Substitutions may be made at any time.
